West Coast Florida Marriage License Requirements
The legal age for marriage in Florida is 18 years old. Couples under 18 must have parental consent. Florida residents have a required three-day waiting period. The spouses must present a valid photo ID to obtain the marriage license, which is valid for 60 days. The waiting period is waved with the completion of a Florida Premarital Course.
There is no waiting period required for out-of-state residents.
Residency or blood tests are not required. Both of the spouses must apply for and sign the license together. There is a fee of $93.50 (methods of payment vary), which can be reduced upon completion of a premarital course (ask court for details). If either the spouses has been previously married, he or she must present a copy of the divorce decree or death certificate. All offices are open Monday through Friday. Call ahead to get all of the details.
